MUSIC VIDEOS, MOVIE CLIPS, ETC.
Posting videos is quite easy, but you have to follow the instructions or it won't show up. Especially with YouTube, because they recently changed their embedding source code functions.
All you need to do to post a video is the height and width of the embedded player, and the correct link to the embedded video.
Here's what it should look like:
where the 640 is the height, 390 is the width and the link is from the embedded source.
Step 1: Use the flash tag to create the actual tag:
which will give you this in your post:
Step 2: Find the enbeded source code and height/width properties. Please keep in mind that you can't use a direct link to the video here. It MUST from the actual embedded source code. If you aren't sure how to find this, here's a guide using YouTube as an example (most vid hosting places have a similar way to get the source code. Just find the 'share' button and click 'embed'):
(YouTube has recently changed their embedding code to an iframe format, which DOES NOT work on most forums. This is why they offer the 'old format' embedding source code. You have to use the old source if you're posting a YouTube video. You don't have to do this with other sites, though.)
Step 3: Then copy/paste this whole thing into your post here at the forums. I've highlighted the info you'll need (height, width, link):
Now all you have to do is copy those 3 things into the flash tag the way I showed you above:
You can now delete all that embed code you don't need anymore. That's it. It's not hard at all, it's just a matter of making sure you use the right link. If you have any questions, feel free to ask but please actually try to follow the directions first!
